Turns out that when you spend all your time flying around the world having your pokemon destroy inn furniture, you kind of run out of money.

[And he's way too stubborn to accept Carmen paying for everything all the time, even with her unexplained reserves of cash. So here he goes...!]

To fix that, I'm taking commissions for leather goods! I've been doing this for...just about forever, so I can make just about anything put of whatever this world's version of leather is, really -- saddles, bags, saddles with bags, coats, coats with bags, bags with hidden bags, you get the idea. I can also work with metal, but I'd rather not make any weapons. I'm thinking more along the lines of prosthetic limbs (not that most of you have need for that) or jewelry.

Depending on what it is, we can talk out a price that works. Call in today and receive a free egg or bunny rock thing with your order!

Or just call in if you want the pokemon and something crafted, I guess. I'll have a list of egg moves for the ones I have on hand, but if that's all you want then I'll need to ask you to pay for them. The daily swarm pokemon just need a good home. Haven't seen what these new guys can do in battle yet, but if you're in a pinch, they make an excellent dragon-repelling disco ball*!

*May or may not actually repel dragons. The scientists are still hard at work on that one.

I've no idea what's a disco ball and why it would have any particular effect on dragons, but they can also distract would-be pickpockets and keep doors open. You might want to add that to your sales' pitch.

I think the crystals might make them more attractive to pickpockets, too.

It was not quite my intention at first. I merely let it out of its pokéball near an open door, and it chose not to move. For three hours and a half.

Exactly, and luckily they are not easily removed. Some wild Zigzagoon proved that by trying... for three hours and a half.

[As a matter of fact, 'dead' was slowly becoming the most probable option.]

I haven't run into any of these that are so, er, calm so far. Though the most energetic I've seen is the one that was spinning like a top...

[None of these are sounding like good qualities to him. Especially the possible dragon repellent, but this is Hiccup, so that was obvious.]

...I can see how it would work, somewhat, yet after a few hours of this I cannot even imagine it. I do hope it stopped before the dizziness became too mugh to handle.

[Hiccup cranes his neck a bit, as if that would help him get a better view of Cecil's surroundings. When it doesn't, he offers a weak smile and a shrug.]

It takes all kinds. And I...didn't stay to find out, actually. That was just about when I learned about my pokemon having eggs, so...

[And hearing who had had eggs was enough to make him bury his face in his hands at the time.]

Ah, I understand. Such a discovery would leave anyone... distracted.

Are you having much luck finding good homes for both eggs and bunny rocks? Now that they've stopped falling from the skies, I imagine those new species have risen in value, but I've lost track of the popularity of Eevees and Growlithes long ago.

Er... Not yet, honestly. I'm hoping it's just because it still hasn't been very long, and not because everyone already has them...

Although a lot of people have doubles of the same pokemon, and the number of evolutions for an Eevee should help. I suppose if all else fails, I can donate the rest of the eggs to the Breeding Centre.

You'd think all those evolutions would help, yet I've not heard of many people aiming to raise them all. Not counting that household with nearly thirty members of the species, of course.

Still, with those egg moves they should all be snatched up before long.

I've...inherited a lot of them. [He has literally no idea what his cousin was thinking, with all those eeveelutions ~~or that Snotlout had the team of them as a bet~~ but he's grown accustomed to most of them now.] They all have their pros and cons, so there's a good appeal there.

[Yagyuu was a crazy cat lady about it, though. Everyone can agree.]

I'm kind of worried about the Scraggy ones... They had the most eggs, but there weren't any egg moves. And I love Bryn, but casual trainers might not take to a lizard when there are cats and dogs around instead.

The lack of eggs moves might discourage certain trainers, but Scraggies are also much less common than the others, as far as I know. Their rarity could generate some interest.

A set, unfortunately.

Maybe. Here's hoping, anyway... [Hiccup shrugs again, ruffling at his bangs.] It's my first time selling eggs as an actual breeder, so if I could get most of them into good homes, if not all of them, that... That would be great.

Ah. My... well, condolences seems too strong a word.

[Then again, for certain cases it would be perfectly appropriate.]

I've no doubt they'll all be treated with love and care, no matter where they'll find themselves. Have you already made plans for future breeding pairs?

I've always...just let them choose as they wish.

This comes from a trainer's experience and not a breeder's, mind you, but quite a few of my Pokémon do not particularly care about their partner, so long as it's not my Ditto. Thus, I sometimes suggest matches to see what sort of moves the children will know upon hatching.

Huh... Mine have always been a bit picky, I guess -- or there's Hookfang, who's just obsessed with wooing one Arcanine, apparently.

[Hiccup makes a bit of a face, wondering yet again why Vicky would ever choose to have eggs with Hookfang, before shrugging.]

I guess that's something I'll have to look into more in the future.

The strength of that devotion is to be admired, then. Rosie was much the same, years ago, but then her sweetheart... disappeared, and she decided that Onion would do if she wanted children.

That's every Ditto, truly, but I was indeed specifically thinking of mine. It'd happily get weekly eggs out of every member of my team if it could. Shall I assume that you are not one of those unlucky breeders who were told that they absolutely had to own one? It was once a very popular idea.

I...only just became a breeder recently, I guess. The last time I was here I was a trainer, so I'm still more used to thinking like one.

I see. Having to think of egg clutches as a goal rather than a surprise must be a difficult adjustment to make, especially if you spent much time as a trainer.

I did. A couple of years, not counting my time spent training dragons back home. By this point, I don't even really know if I can adjust to that... Setting pairs still sounds very weird.

Do not worry. I've no doubt you'll someday wake up and think of matching a lion and a snake or a bird and a dog as if it was perfectly normal.

You said you were a trainer, right? You seem to have the hang of breeding.

That's an accidental and unwanted situation, I assure you. My sweet Leviathan decided long ago that she liked Squall's Seifer, she told the rest of my team all about the joys of snuggling together with a loved one, and before I knew it there were eggs everywhere. Add to that Gogo the Ditto's efforts, even when he was part of another team...
